This study empirically analyzed if a social contribution activity program would have effects on generativity, self-efficacy, and quality of life improvement for the early retirees in middle and old age. The participants in the study were 86 early retirees in middle and old age between 50 and 64, who were using J. Social Welfare Center located in D. City. In order to evaluate the effects of the program, they were divided into experimental group(n=44) and control group(n=42). To verify the effectiveness of the social contribution activity program, pre, post, and follow-up tests were evaluated in both groups. Data were analyzed using SPSS Statistics 25.0 Software, repeated measures ANOVA, paired t-test, independent sample t-test, and chi-square test were conducted. The results indicated that the social contribution activity program significantly increased generativity, self-efficacy, and quality of life in the early retirees in middle and old age, and this effect was maintained even after the completion of the program. In other words, the social contribution activity program had positive effects on the improvement of generativity, self-efficacy, and quality of life in the early retirees in middle and old age. Based on the results, the necessity of developing a customized social contribution activity program for the early retirees in middle and old age and linkage with local communities were proposed.
